Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which building codes apply to the construction of a modular home?

Modular homes are built to exactly the same building codes as “stick built” or “custom built” homes. Manufactured homes (i.e., double wide homes) are built to completely different building codes.

  • Do modular homes have lower construction costs than stick built homes?

Yes.  Because of the cost advantages of building in a factory and lower completion costs, modular homes cost much less to build compared to stick built homes.

  • Do modular homes finance, appraise, and appreciate the same as stick built homes?

Yes.  There is no difference in the financing, appraisal, or increase in value over time for modular homes compared to stick built homes.  In fact, because of the lower costs of construction, many homeowners move in with extra equity.

  • Can I purchase a modular home based on my own house plans?

One of our owners is a licensed Professional Engineer. We design many of the homes that we build.  This ability is unique in the modular home industry.

  • Do I have to worry about weather damage and theft during the construction of my new home?

No.  Most of our homes are placed on the foundation with shingles and locked up in one day!  No stick builder can do that.
